ok so how can i set my phone to let me know about my facebook notifications?

i have the lg rumor touch by virgin mobile and yes i do have unlimited internet

The sad answer is that you can't. You may be able to set Facebook to text you when you have an alert, but you cannot set your phone to notify you when Facebook has alerts.

You can also try installing Ebuddy or other message apps to see if they do better with alerts through their connection with Facebook. I'll leave the link to learn how to install those.

I have the same phone. Log into your Facebook account from your phone, go to bottom of the page and click on Settings. Then you'll see Sms. Click it then you'll see how to activate Facebook text messages
