How do i get my facebook notifications?

When i first got my facebook probably 2 years ago, it always gave me notifications, but now for the past year or so, i dont really get notifications if someone commented on my status, or if someone replyed to a wall post etc. How do i get it back? i get the notifications if i use FB on my phone, so whats up?

go to your acount settings maybe it changed without you knowing
