Is there a way to permanently disable Facebook email notifications?

Every time someone makes one of those "New phone, need numbers groups" and adds me to it, Facebook automatically sends me emails and it gets flooded

remove yourself from the grouip, post your # on their wall and remove yourself, or disable you account and make a new one, only telling certain people about your new account.

Yes, you can
When you're on news feed/your homepage, go on account, and then click on account settings.
Then you can click on the notifications tab.
Going down the page there will be tick boxes for notifications via text or email.
Simply untick all of the email boxes and scroll to the bottom and press, save changes
