Why the fuck can i not respond to user when i asked the original question?

The site was not built for that. You don't directly. YA is not a chat room or Facebook. You have two options:

1. E-mail or IM the user through their profile.

2. Wait until you pick the BA and add comments for each user. Probably only the Best Answer will see it since they only get a notification.

The ONLY exception is that you can add additional details (pencil icon on question toolbar) to your question for clarification of the question. Do not call users by name doing this or it will be deemed chat.

Because this isnt a social site. Its questions and answers only.
You can pick them as best answer after an hour and leave a comment then.

Yahoo isnt about to get into allowing little barbs and insults traded back & forth like
they do on Youtube about everything.

But in reality.. the people who answer arent going to sit there for the next few hours waiting to see if there is more action on the question. They really dont care that much.
People spend about 15-30 sec. on a question and seldom return
