Why is Facebook not working properly?

Ever since the recent 'hacking', my Facebook is messing up.

I can't receive notifications, and when I do, they disappear. Or I may refresh the page and all the same notifications are there.
For example I may get on and have 4 notifications. I check them, they go away like normal. I go to another page and I see the exact same 4 notifications.


And if someone likes or comments my status or a photo, I click on the notification and I go to the page and I see no likes or comments even though it says it was liked or commented on.
I've gone on another account, it's doing the same thing. But I ask a buddy of mine if the same thing is happening to them, and they say theirs is working fine. I also tried all the browsers I have and it's doing the same thing on all of them (Firefox, Chrome, IE)

I'm not sure whats going on, if this is because of the hacking or if it has something to do with my system or the browsers?

it could always be technical difficulties facebook is having because i have it and same things happen to me once in a blue moon. sometimes too many account holders could be the cause of it. the same kinda applies to myspace (when it was popular). when too many people made a myspace, it got slower and began to have issues throughout the site. don't worry...it won't be a permanent problem. try reloading the page a couple of times or just close out of the site entirely and wait half an hour.
