In facebook, when someone challenges you in a game?

when you get a notification saying that someone challenges you in a game does that mean that they clicked on your name to challenge you?
or is it just because they added a certain application and so the application can access your information....and so you see that as a notification saying your friend is challenging you to play that game

it is a preset message. but your friend checked a box to send the "challenge" to you. sooo...that is pretty much it. the challenge is more like an invitation sort of.

Like when they play Mind Jolt games,
you know how sometimes when you're finished playing the first time,
it says " invite friends to play ! "
It depends on what application you are talking about.
The only time you get a notification and people view your public information is when your friend is playing Friends For Sale.
However it really isn't a game.

You will get a notification if someone challenges you,
you don't have to take the challenges though.
