Stupid question time: how do you respond to an answer on here?
I feel really stupid. So when I ask a question on here and someone gives me an answer I like, how do I tell them that and say my question was answered? I know it happens in a ton of questions, how do you do it?
Does it matter that I'm on my iPhone? I never use a computer on here really, can you only do it on the full site? Thanks! Ads |

You can go to your question and click edit. It will let you chose a best answer for some time though. It has to stay open for awhile and then it will prompt you to chose the best answer.

On a phone, you may need to switch to desktop mode. You don't directly respond to answers. YA is not a chat room or Facebook. YA is for Q&A, not conversation. You have two options:
1. E-mail or IM the user through their profile, if they allow communication. 2. Wait until you pick the BA and add comments for each user. Probably only the Best Answerer will see it since they only get a notification. The ONLY exception is that you can add additional details to your question (little pencil icon on question toolbar) for clarification of the question. Do not call users by name doing this or it will be deemed chat. |

Well you tell them when you choose the question as best answer... Like choose me as best answer then you'll get something that say if you would like to add something to them... But first you would have to choose the best answer so you can then comment..

Hi John, how are you? badhabyt is right, there is the best way to communicate with people here is to give them "best answer" so that you can use the comments section to talk back and forth. You have to "best answer" the person you want to talk to so they get an email (and come back to read the comments) also they can comment back - but you have to come back to check for responses because I don't think you get emailed about those.
Hope this helps. |
